I knew Pei when he was a very young man. He and the Combs family lived on Ocean View Avenue. My family, the Penniman’s, lived across the street and up one block. He showed us a rickshaw he had imported, I had never seen one. He was sponsored by a wonderful and creative family who were in involved in child theater, puppetry and marionettes. A wonderful memory. He was always friendly, chatted and an exotic person who we were always to make contact with. A lovable person. I lost track of him but an so happy he had a wonderful life sir rounded by family.
