I’m heartbroken to hear that my stem cell sister Sandi Abram Selvi passed away. She inspired me so much in my own decision, choosing stem cell transplant in Sweden.
I’m thinking of her husband Rob and her two sons. R.I.P. Sandi. I am happy that I met Sandi and she will not be forgotten.

Sending love and condolences to Rob, the boys and her family. Sandy was one of a kind, unforgettable and just plain formidable in all the ways that matter. She fought back in ways that gave us belly laughs, she was ferociously loyal, and beautiful with a smile that lit up the room. She....will...be...missed! Much love from your old neighbors, The Ballingall’s

Sandi meant so much to so many . . . and gave so much to so many, and inspired so many to try to live as fiercely as she did. I have always admired her candor and courage so much. I remember her, shortly after having been diagnosed with MS, somehow up on a ladder, painting a dolphin mascot on the wall in the old Foothill Elementary office. Entertaining at a Redwood PTA luncheon with a free comedy performance (tough crowd, stone cold sober, but she was hilarious!), and too many other times to number, her light and generosity shared with all of us lucky enough to have crossed paths with her in her too-short existence. Her life was certainly well-lived and I am thankful to have been in her orbit. With gratitude and love to her and deepest condolences to her family.

Sandi & I were good friends, we attended attended Branham high school together and lived on the same street. I have many great memories. We went skiing with her family several times (her parents were always fun to hang out with), we memorized all of the words to our favorite Elton John songs, we raced our brothers dirt bikes (she always won), she could throw a football further than anyone else, and was great at everything she tried. When my brother, Bob had a motor cycle accident in High School, Sandi (always thoughtful) organized the neighborhood to make a giant get will board with her picture in the center, it was placed in his hospital room.
I was sad when the family moved to Ben Lomond, but brother Bob and I did go to see their beautiful new home with pool and tennis court. We lost touch after that, and then a few years back we saw each other while at a book signing for Dr. Lara (we were both fans). In the last year, our mutual High School friend & neighbor, Judy Young, asked me to contact Sandi when she was in hospice (and I did) as she had some great memories of the two of us.
When we were younger, we thought we had all the time in the world. When we are older, we realized that every moment and every memory is precious. Sandi made me a better person and added a lot of happiness to my life. She was the most amazing, beautiful, talented & caring person I have ever known. I am sure that she is in a good place, making it an even better place. I hope that I will see her again one day.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family & friends at this difficult time.

Rob, Jim and Tom, The service for Sandi was filled with heart felt love and admiration. We were honored to attend. I was so glad to hear that Sandi may be coming back as a monarch butterfly. I have several milkweed plants in my yard and they attract the butterflies and host the larvae. I am sure Rob knows this. I think of Sandi often and I know I will every time I see a monarch. Wishing you peace and comfort in the memory of the smart, sassy, brave and generous spirit that was the essence of Sandi.RIP Sandi
