I wanted to be a SCUBA diver ever since I first watched "Sea Hunt." Ray Miser certified me in the summer of 1969. He then mentored me in the techniques of SCUBA and breath hold diving. I accompanied him on many trips to Greyhound Rock, Davenport, Steamers Lane, the Monterey Public Wharf and Cannery Row. I have great memories of all the trips and the sea life we caught. The marine flora and fuana were plentiful, the colors vibrant and Ray enjoyed them all.
I still have my original certification card, though I'm now a SCUBA instructor myself. I try to share the same passion and insight with my students that Ray did with me. He was truly one of a kind.
