In Moran, Mabel was a next-door neighbor, two years younger, and a year or so behind me in high school. She was an attractive young lady and got very good grades which was a big plus for me. But I matured slowly so we never dated, but now I wonder why. At KU she graduated before me because I spent 2 years in the army. Last time I saw her was at a Moran Alumni reunion many years ago. I am sorry she is no longer with us, but I have only good memories and that will do. Those closer to her will miss her more and have more memories to enjoy.
