Obituary of Lawrence Conrad Richardson

Lawrence "Larry" Conrad Richardson passed away peacefully at home in Boulder Creek while listening to the Eagles song, "Life in the Fast Lane", on March 15, 2017. He was 72 years old. Larry was born in 1945 in Long Beach, CA. He grew up in the Midwest and relocated to California in his twenties. Larry served in the US Navy for four years on the USS Douglas H. Fox before transitioning to the public sector working for the United States Postal Service, where he devoted over 40 years of his life. Larry had a passion for Hot Rods and Harley Davidsons. He was the king of the downhill Gravity Drags races at Cops and Rodders car show, and won many trophies over the years for his custom built Chevy. He also enjoyed talking to people all across the globe on his Ham and CB Radios. One of Larry's favorite times of the year was Christmas. He enjoyed decorating the house with lights, and entertaining his family and friends in Boulder Creek. He will be dearly missed. Larry is survived by his wife of 9 years Nancy Richardson, twin sister Linda (Gene) Orstead of Rochelle, IL, sister in law Janet Richardson of Montgomery, IL, niece Sheri Vanderberg of Mongomery, IL, cousins Bonnie Henderson of Victorville, CA, Tom (Laura) Boyne of Aurora, IL, Joanne Boyne of Chicago, IL, Lyle (Roberta) Boggess of Granite Bay, CA, daughter Lisa (Johnny) Schot-Martins of Santa Cruz, CA, son Brian (Sharon) Richardson of Boulder Creek, step-daughter Crystal (Joe) Clayton, step-son Shane Clayton of San Diego, CA, grandchildren Acacia, Eli, Camielle and Johnathon of Santa Cruz, CA, and great-grandson Aiden of Santa Cruz, CA. A graveside service for Larry will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Santa Cruz Memorial Park, 1927 Ocean Street Ext., Santa Cruz.
