Obituary of William H. Quale

William H. Quale was born in San Martin, CA on May 15, 1922 to George and Mildred Quale and was raised in Gilroy. On May 21, 2015 he passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Cruz and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1943, Bill joined the Navy and served as a Radioman in the Aleutian Islands. During his time in the service, he met Carolyn Ansley and they were married in her hometown of Santa Cruz in 1945. Bill began his career working for Bank of America as an Assistant Clerk. He had a long and successful career and retired as a Regional Vice President in Santa Cruz after more than 40 years of service After raising their own children, Bill and Carrie became foster parents for pre-adoptive babies. Over the years, they fostered 10 infants. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome with family and friends, visiting every state as well as Canada. Bill was an active member of the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce, serving as President in 1986. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Dominican Hospital Foundation. He was very active working in community service as well as a member of the Rotary Club and Forty Thieves. He was also instrumental in the startup of Santa Cruz Bible Church involving financial matters. He later served as a Deacon at Twin Lakes Church. Bill is survived by son David and wife Rose of Laytonville, daughter Jan and husband Michael Pavlovich of Santa Cruz, son Mark and wife Julie of Santa Cruz, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Carrie, his wife of 65 years and his son Peter. Services will be held at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz, on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10 A.M. Contributions to Hospice in his memory are preferred.
