Obituary of Thomas Arthur Bucher

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thomas Arthur Bucher, 62, died unexpectedly in his sleep surrounded by his family. Born to Francis and Marilyn Bucher in San Jose where he grew up. He graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School, and soon after began working for Coca Cola Bottling Co, retiring in 2010 after 38 years (he always referred to himself as a "dinosaur" for lasting so long). Yet in retirement he was able to travel the world, get certified in scuba, enjoy daily walks with his dogs to the park, and spend days at the Rio Del Mar beach. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Sharon, his two children, Lauren and Bryan, stepchildren, Scott and Stacey, his brothers, Tim, Patrick, Kevin, and Frank. He was deeply proud of his son, Bryan, playing baseball on full scholarship at Fresno Pacific University, and Lauren, a Chico State graduate, working as an event coordinator in Napa. He always put forth his full effort in everything he did, and his gregarious personality, great sense of humor and booming laugh will be missed beyond description. His passing leaves an empty spot in the hearts of many, especially his wife, Sharon. To honor Tom, a Celebration of his Life will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial Chapel, 1927 Ocean St, Santa Cruz on Monday, March 16 at 10:30 A.M. A reception will follow.
