Dear family of Elizabeth Maire,
May I extend my deepest sympathy upon the death of your sister & aunt. I remember dear "Liz" from the 1980's here in Santa Cruz through the mid part of 2000. My husband, Leslie loved to walk over to the Maire house on Bay Street, just about 2 blocks away and chat with dear Charlie. Liz and Charles were a fun couple. So hospitable.
I have a beautiful quilt made by Elizabeth that I still use and enjoy. Liz was a lady of many
parts and interests. She was a member of NARFE - National Active & Retired Federal Employees Assn. joining us for luncheon meetings at the Elks Club. Because of her love of
classical and operatic music she was a member of SCOSI - Santa Cruz Opera Society, Inc.
A group of folks who enjoyed and supported opera in it's many forms. We still meet monthly
at each other's home. Elizabeth was a part of that.
As I recall, Elizabeth loved the Lord and was active in her church here in Santa Cruz. She
spoke lovingly of her family and certainly has had a long and full life.
