My condolences go out to my high school, friend, Peggy and her family. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Leon Hebert in 1966 about a year after they moved to Santa Cruz. He was always so kind to me and I was so impressed how he helped train all his employees at McDonald's. My brother was one of them. Now he and Leon can laugh together in Heaven about hamburgers---what else?! :) God bless the Hebert family. I so wanted to be at his memorial, however I was out of town that weekend.

To the family of Leon Hebert jr,
I am so very sorry for the passing of your beloved Leon.
I got my first job at 16, working at McDonalds on Freedom Blvd, in Freedom, California.
Mr Hebert, was the owner at that time. I remember when i first started working there, i was so happy and nervous at the same time, but he was ALWAYS so very caring, considerate of my feelings, helpful, funny and nice to me during the time i worked there. He always made me laugh!!
He made my job very pleasant when he was around. I have always cherished my memories of him and working at McDonalds and will continue to do so. Thank you for letting me share on his memorial. He was a very special person and we were all blessed to have him in our lives.
Take Care,
Diane Melton Vavra

Remembering Leon has and always will be a fond thought for me. He was an exemplary human being in his geniune and sincere personality. He always treated myself and the workman on our crew with respect and gracious hospitality when we had the opportunity to work at his home.
Thank you Leon for being a part of my life and all my heartfelt sympathy to your family at this time.

It's so hard, when someone who means so much to you leaves. Mr. Hebert was just like another father to me. He was always kind, caring and loving. He allowed me to bring my last two children to work for their first two years of life. The only thing was, after I got them to sleep, he would come in and play with them and I would have to try and get them back to sleep. I named my third son, Andrew Leon because Leon was such a great boss, friend and would always listen to my concerns and give me advice. Life will be different with no annual birthday call or get togethers for lunch. But he is with Valier again and he really missed her. One day, I will see them both again. Thank you for all the wonderful years that I did have with you and Mrs. Hebert.

I was very sad to read of the passing of your father. My father, Norman Mork, was Leon and Valier's CPA. I worked as an accountant with my father and also Berger Lewis Accty Corp. Your dad was a kind man and I looked forward to seeing him, mostly in the accounting office, but sometimes in Costco. I know he was one of my father's favorite client's too. I shall miss him. My sympathies to your families.
