Please share a memory of Nicole to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nicole Marie (Guyette) Haley, 40, our beautiful angel, of Santa Cruz, CA and formerly from Nashua, NH passed away on December 17, 2024, after succumbing to a long battle and extended illness with cancer. Nicole was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully. Nicole was born to Louanne and Paul Guyette, in Princeton, NJ on November 19, 1984. She was the granddaughter of Rita and Leonard Guyette of Troy, NY, and Lillian and Omer Clermont of Cohoes, NY. From a young age, Nicole was a force of life who cherished her family and friends. She had an incredible eagerness to explore and experience all what life could offer. Nicole grew up in Nashua, NH and graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in 2003 where she played soccer, a sport that continued to be her favored pastime for the rest of her life. Additionally, Nicole enjoyed playing several instruments including piano, saxophone, guitar, and clarinet. In 2007 Nicole graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH, with a degree in Civil Engineering. During college, she learned how to surf on the beaches of New Hampshire. Throughout this incredibly busy journey, Nicole studied engineering abroad for a semester at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary which gave her the opportunity to travel to Germany, Serbia and Italy. Through her many activities at UNH, she met the love of her life, Ryan Haley, which would kick off a lifetime of adventure. Shortly after their time at UNH, Nicole and Ryan purchased one-way tickets to Sydney, Australia. This trip would subsequently become six months of traveling throughout Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Upon returning, they moved to Santa Cruz County, CA. Ryan and Nicole married in 2014, and later welcomed two beautiful daughters, Irie (2018) and Summer (2021). Nicole had a very accomplished career in the field of public infrastructure. She devoted her career to the treatment and distribution of safe drinking water for the residents of San Jose and Santa Cruz, CA. Nicole was easy to love, she had the capacity to move mountains and to show others love, even when battling her own fight. She had a smile that could light up a room, a witty and creative sense of humor, and an infectious laugh. Nicole had a deep affection for animals - in her spare time she volunteered at a local animal shelter and adopted Marley, an international shelter dog. With her love for soccer, she also belonged to coed and women’s leagues in CA. She was a beautiful, fun loving and caring daughter, sister, wife and mother. Nicole is survived by her husband, Ryan Haley, and their two daughters, Irie (6) and Summer (3); her parents Louanne King (Clermont/Guyette), her husband, Bill King of Melrose, MA; along with her father, Paul Guyette, and his wife, Pamela Guyette, of Fernandina Beach, FL. Nicole also leaves behind her brother Jacques Guyette, his wife, Katie Bush, and their four children: Jackson, Roosevelt, Ford, and Reagan of Marblehead, MA, many aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
