John Walker passed away on October 26, 2024 at the age of 88 in Santa Cruz, CA. after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
John was a proud Yorkshireman, born February 15, 1936 in Leeds, England, son of the late Alfred Walker and Millicent (Stead) Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brother Terrance Walker, sisters Pauline Wilks and Janice Gledhill, and his first wife Jacqueline Sweeney.
At age 15, John apprenticed as a mold maker and later served 3 years in the RAF. In 1968 he emigrated to the United States, where he would go on to start his own company TMA Sales. He and Jackie raised their three children in New Hampshire where John later met his second wife and partner in all things, Sandra (Morton) Walker.
In 1993 he and Sandra moved to Whatcom County, Washington where he worked at Superfeet for 20 years. They lived in Ferndale and Deming before moving to California in 2013. John was an avid cyclist and hiker, and his ashes will be scattered in the mountains he loved.
John leaves behind Sandra, his three children: Tracey of Los Angeles, CA, Michael of Hampton, NH, Amber of Ben Lomond, CA, and son-in-law Michael Agnew. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons as well as his sisters Marny Smith and Julie Pygott and many nieces and nephews in England.
