Everett Meisser, Jr, CPA, passed away at the age of 78 on June 2nd from a long illness. He was a father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend, who will be deeply missed. Everett was born on January 31, 1946, in San Jose, Ca. He attended Campbell High School and went on to earn his MBA at San Jose State and became a Certified Public Accountant. He moved to Santa Cruz in 1973 and opened his CPA practice in 1975 in Capitola. Everett was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges his clients faced. He was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. Everett enjoyed traveling to Italy and Europe, skiing, making gelato and pizza with his family. He was always known for having his Nutella Popsicles at his kids’ schools and games. Everett is survived by his wife Lisa, his five children, Everett III, Aaron, Nico, Renzo, and Gemma, his six grandsons and his great grandson. Everett was the oldest of four. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Gutierrez, Carolyn Meisser, Nancy Martens, and his two nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Everett Meisser, Sr, his nephew Brian Rose, and his best friend Ron Shaffer. Wayne Shaffer and Everett became closest friends in 1973, meeting at the Body Shop Health Club. They lifted weights together till 2020. They became fast friends over training and chocolate chip cookies. Along with investing in Real Estate projects. Everett volunteered his CPA financial services in Saint Francis Catholic Kitchen, Siena House Maternity Home, SV Little League and served on the Happy Valley Elementary School board for many years. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Everett loved stripes and would enjoy seeing people attend his service in stripes. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6th, 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial, 1927 Ocean St. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 7 at 1:30pm at Holy Cross Church. Italian Reception immediately following at Shaffer Park. We know he is happy playing cards with his dad and the two of them beating his mom in hearts. We can imagine him happy having a beer with Ron and interviewing the Angels. Rest in peace boys.
