Dov Nadel passed on February 1, 2024, in his home in Santa Cruz, California, surrounded by his wife, Marilyn Yasmine, his daughters, Kiersten and Elana and their husbands. Born in 1948 in Milford, Connecticut to Daniel and Shirley Nadel, Dov was the eldest of three boys. He grew up in San Jose and went to San Jose State.
Dov was a Naturopath, Healer and Dowser. He created several natural healing techniques that he taught across the United States. Dov was a Japanese Sword Sensei (teacher) for over 40 years, and he was the Head Sensei to his School of Sword and Staff in Santa Cruz.
Dov was a deeply spiritual and passionate man. He loved connecting with people from all walks of life sharing his love of healing, martial arts, music, gardening, photography and movies. He was a huge 49ers fan and loved cheering on the Golden State Warriors. He loved celebrating the joys of life with family and friends. His bold spirit lives on through family and friends and his entire community holds him deep in their hearts.
Dov is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Yasmine Nadel, his daughters, Kiersten Schneider and her husband, Bill Schneider and Elana McCart and her husband, Travis McCart. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Nadel, his brother, Barry Nadel, and granddaughter, Katie Jeanne. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Nadel and by his younger brother, Michael Nadel.
