Obituary of Colleen Clark (Reason) Alves

Please share a memory of Colleen Clark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our dear Colleen died on April 28th at Dominican Hospital with her loving family at her side. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, and those who loved her are still grieving in disbelief. Colleen was born at East Oakland Hospital - the same place as her father Clark – on August 2 1963. She was proud to call the San Lorenzo Valley home for her entire life. Her childhood home was the Reason Ranch, which she shared with her parents Clark and Gail, her six siblings, and her great uncle Ernie Kint. She enjoyed a happy childhood riding horses, swimming in Zayante Creek, sliding down the quarry sand hill dubbed Sandy Candy Mountain, raising 4-H lambs, and later working at the Loch Lomond concession as well as Henry Cowell giftshop. A Valley Girl through and through, she married SLV classmate Nestor Alves on a most memorable day at the Ranch. Her three beautiful children and two beautiful grandchildren were her greatest joy. Colleen above all was a family person. Material things held little sway. Her family and her family of friends sustained her. They were her reason for being. She was kind and loving by nature. Many people will miss the warmth and comfort she selflessly shared. Colleen is survived by her daughter Megan Bridges and husband John and their children Brody and Madison, and her son Rick Alves and his wife Sage. She is also survived by her mother Gail Reason, her brothers Keith and Chuck Reason, and her sisters Lisa Hunt and Donna Walker. She is predeceased by her son Doug Alves, her father Clark Reason, her brother Kent Reason, and her sister Candi Slaughter.
