I was one of Mrs. Dougan's students at Scott's Valley Junior High. She was my favorite teacher. She did everything with a smile and energetic spirit, and I listened in awe when I heard about her travels.
She inspired me to do my own traveling and was a wonderful example of a woman living a full life!
I am so thankful that I knew her.
Susan was a great friend of mine since high school days, she was at Gendale High and I at Hoover High. We spent hours skateboarding and surfing in the Santa Barbara area. We were able to maintain our friendship to the end. I will think of her often and will miss our annual email to celebrate her birthday in December.
