Charles Garland Strelitz died unexpectedly of heart complications on the 14th of July 2022. Chuck was born on the 8th of April 1950 in Los Angeles, California to Jules and Jane (Levy) Strelitz. Chuck moved to Santa Cruz in 1970 and started a surfboard shaping business, Westcliff Surfboards. Chuck was a lifelong surfer, even in his final days. Chuck and his wife of 40 years, Sharon, met in Santa Cruz in the 1970s. Chuck was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was the ultimate storyteller, captivating everyone with his stories of his life. Chuck and Sharon spent retirement enjoying Santa Cruz and traveling to spend time with their family. When in England visiting his daughter, his fascination with all things ancient (including Roman ruins and historic pubs) made travel all the more fun.
Chuck is survived by his wife Sharon, sister Julie, children Sam and Jean, son-in-law Mac, granddaughter Charlotte Jane and a new grandchild coming in Autumn 2022.
