Obituary of Linda Lee Rush

Linda Lee Rush died on March 27th, 2022 at the age of 78 under the care of Santa Cruz Hospice at Pacific Coast Manor in Santa Cruz, California. She was born Linda Lee Guedalia on August 6th, 1943 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Jay Guedalia and Joyce Carlson. Daughter of a US Navy Veteran, Linda grew up in Huntington Beach, California with her sister Jere, graduating from Huntington Beach High School, Class of 1961. She was an avid swimmer on the Pacific Southwest Swim Team, winning several awards and honorable mentions. She loved the beach and surfing. After graduating she spent some time in Hawaii, then travelled to San Francisco, California in 1967, where her daughter Niko was born, before moving to Santa Cruz, California in 1972. Linda was a driver for Community Connections at Santa Cruz County Mental Health until she retired at age 67. She was very well known and loved by her community, neighbors, family, and friends. Linda is preceded in death by both parents, daughter Lisa Ann and her sister Jerelyn Guedalia, and is survived by her daughter Maura Niko Takaoka of Santa Cruz, California, Grandsons, Tyler D Marshall of Santa Cruz, CA and Brandon Lee Torres of Austin, TX, and nephew Douglas Hal Whittenberg of Anchorage, Alaska. There will be a Celebration of Life at Jose Avenue County Park in Live Oak, California on her birthday, August 6th, 2022 at 12:30 pm, followed by a private burial at sea.
