I believe it was the summer before six grade we met at the neighborhood swimming pool. Can't rember exactly how our relationship transpired, but once it did, Steve became an instant family member, a brother.
I don't think we spent more than a day apart for the next 7yrs. We did what normal boys do, played video games way to late at night, I think it was need for speed, listened to our favorite hip hop music, memorizing eminem lyrics, watching movies like bad boys and fast n furious, and of course dreaming about Brittany and Christina. The countless rounds of golf we played, sneaking on to the oakbridge course. The hundreds of games of pool and late night movies. We were inseparable.
We both had a love for cars. We found excuses to drive around, racing who ever was willing, or just crusing the town jaming out, way to late at night. We dreamed of the day we could have our own exotic rides. Steve always wanted his Ferrari 575M from bad boys, while I was always the 911 fan.
It wasn't till college we went our separate ways. We still kept in touch, joing up for the tally house parties. But we began to grow into our own lives. Steve fell in love with cooking and it moved him around the US, finally landing him in CA. I never made it out there to visit. But it he made it sound like paradise. He had a way of making everything sound pefect.
Steve lived life with passion. When he grabbed on to something, it was with a strong grip. His love for skating, cooking, cars, golf, and relationships was beautiful. I wish I could have been around more the past few years. I wish he could meet my little girl or go on another midnight ride around town. He will always be a big part of my life. I will never forget the time we spent together and I promise I will try to live my life with the same passion he did. Love you brother! There is not a cloud in the sky! Bad boys for life!
