Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Today we celebrate the passing of Doris Thomas who was born into the world on January 22nd 1951 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to proud parents, Frank and Esther Thomas. Doris was the third oldest daughter of their nine children, eight girls and one boy. Doris at about the age of seven moved to Santa Cruz with her family where she has resided for 64 years. Doris was a high school graduate from Santa Cruz High School in 1968. After high school she worked at a few different jobs such as Wrigley's Gum Factory and Plantronics. She also worked housekeeping and babysitting jobs. Doris loved children very much. Doris married Arthur Palmer in the 70's and had two children: a daughter, Vera Palmer in 1972 and a son, Mack in 1974. Doris was a very special spiritual woman who loved God very much and made people smile. Doris kept the Bible close to her heart. She knew many Bible verses and respected them all. In her home she had many Bible verses on plaques and ornaments that she read every day. Doris had the Honor of being a Junior Church Mother and received a certificate for her faithful membership at a church called "Crown Of Life" which was pastored by Tommy Hughes. After her attendance stopped she became a member of "All Nations Church of God in Christ" which was first pastored by Elder Warren and then continued on to be pastored by Pastor Ernest Brown and is now called "Word of Life Church" where she was a member and loved Pastor Brown and first lady, her sister, Ruby. Doris fought with many health conditions. Her body finally gave up and on July 2, 2021 her breathing ended and her heart stopped beating. Now she is cuddled in the arms of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, while looking down at her children, Vera and Mack; and family John, Annamae, Joyce, Ruby, Yeavona, Saundra, and Jewels. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Esther Thomas and her sister Carol Williams. Doris is saying: “Look at me now! I am walking with my Lord!" Amen
