Obituary of Denise Eileen Vreeburg

Denise Eileen Vreeburg (Yocum) went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 7, 2021 at the age of 67. She grew up in San Jose, California, where she graduated from Camden High School, class of 1971. In 1983, she met and fell in love with her husband Paul. They were united in matrimony in 1984, making their union one month shy of 37 years. They have spent the past 32 years in Scotts Valley, California, where they raised their two children. Denise worked for the Santa Clara County Office of Education for over twenty years. She was passionate in her faith and actively involved in her church. She dedicated herself to her personal prayer ministry of creating prayer shawls for friends and family; she lovingly prayed for the recipients as she made them. Denise enjoyed taking walks on the beach and in the redwood forest with her husband Paul, recreational travel and spending time with loved ones, including her many sisters and brothers, children and grandchildren. Denise is one of 13 brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by her parents Bob and Dorothy, daughter Kellie and brothers Eddie and Paul. She is survived by her husband, Paul, children Stacy (Derek) and Jeffrey, grandchildren, Charlotte and Connor, as well as ten brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A private memorial service will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park in Santa Cruz, California on March 16, 2021. In honor of Denise, donations can be made to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation.
