Obituary of Catalina Escobedo

Catalina Escobedo, a longtime resident of Santa Cruz, California, passed away on June 12, 2019.  She was 74.

 

On November 24, 1944 she was born to Esteban Bueno and Hilaria Falcon in Guadalajara, Mexico.  Davenport and Santa Cruz, California were her home for over 35 years.

 

Catalina enjoyed gardening, her beach house and her nature and beach walks.  She also took joy in going shopping, dancing and eating at In-N-Out.  Most of all she loved raising her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.

 

Catalina is survived by her husband of 50 years, Miguel Escobedo; her children Juan Carlos Escobedo, Monica Carrillo, Guadalupe Ibarra and Hector Escobedo; and 13 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sons, Miguel Angel Escobedo and Angel Miguel Escobedo.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 435 Monterey Avenue, Capitola, CA 95012.  There will be a Celebration of Life following Mass at the St. Joseph’s Reception Hall.
