Ever since Carl left Berryessa, it has not been the same. The Galvan and Vaillancourt families always loved that first hello with Carl when we arrived. We loved when he stopped in to play cards, have a drink or just check in on us. What a giver he was and what a wonderful smile he always had to make us feel at home. We honor his service to our nation, his state, his brothers in arms and to the Lake Berryessa community. An American hero, he inspired us with his WW2 sacrifice and reminded us that our way of life was preserved by people like him and the many who never returned. To Carl's family, may the wonderful memories of his long life help you through the sad times. We are better people because we had Carl and his family in our lives.

Ever since Carl left Berryessa, it just has not been the same. The Galvan Family and I missed his smile, his laugh and his spirit more than you know. Saying hi that first time every trip was always a highlight for me. An American Hero in our mind and a wonderful person. We honor his sacrifice to our nation and his spirit. Godspeed Carl. May his family remember the good memories to get you through the sad days.

Words can not express how much I will miss the smile of my Uncle Carl. He was an inspritation to me and my Family. He was so wonderful as my Uncle let alone a neighbor as I had the honor of living next door to him in my Mothers and Grandmothers home. Always with a smile in the morning in fact anytime of day. He and my dearly departed husband Craig had a Zucchini growing contest and tomatoes…they had fun all summer long…it got exciting My Son was truly inspired by him in the Army and they had long heart to heart talks many a time...in fact it was him who inspired Kip to have a 22 year Career in the Military...Kip truly loved all his time he spent when he talk with his Great Uncle. Craleen and family are truly saddened by his passing as Craleen has always admire her Great Uncle. She is unable to attend but send her love. Her daughters always would get excited when they saw and spoke to Carl for they always walk away in admiration for him and joyful. They will miss him but yet they are honored to have met him. My love goes to Martha, Karen, and Doug and all there family members and all those who also loved him.
My heart goes out to My mother Maxine Moon for she has been always a loving Sister always in heart and prayer over her Bother and their families. I know she will miss him quite exceeding. Her strong faith In Christ will be always what gives her that enternal hope that she will see him again and her family before her. I send my love and blessing to all that will miss him and loved him.
I loved the Hubble Picture in his white outfit for he was so truly excited to be apart of History that will remain always in our World. God Bless you Uncle Carl till I see you again.
Love always, Ileen Colvin

I have had the privilege of calling Carl a Brother in Arms as well as a good friend for a number of years. His association with the 149th Armor Regiment was en-lighting to us all with his stories and advice. I will miss the our conversations and his attitude for life. I know he will always be remembered. May he rest in peace. We will meet again at Fiddler's Green.
