Ellie was a remarkable lady. I only knew her (and Don) on a professional basis as a retail advertising salesperson for the RP newspaper over 25 years ago. But that didn't diminish the formidable personality that emanated from Ellie. I'd go to her to simply get payment, and leave a half-hour later after talking about everything from her Merced roots, rental properties, to blackjack betting strategy. This world was richer and sweeter with Ellie among us. Her memory gives me happiness.
