Obituary of Harold F. Wells

Hal Wells, 76, passed away in Santa Cruz Friday after a lengthy illness. A native of Vallejo, CA, Hal was a junior golf champion and after serving in the US Air Force at March Air Force Base in Riverside, he returned to Vallejo and became the assistant golf pro at Blue Rock Springs. He moved to Boulder Creek in 1967 where he was the golf pro at Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club for a span of 40 years. He holds the course record of 23 at the 9 hole Valley Gardens Golf Course in Scotts Valley. He is survived by his wife Lillian Wells; his children, Marilyn and Tim Wells; and step daughter, Rita Lacey. He is also survived by his two sisters, three brothers and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Jason Wells, and step son, Jimmy Walker. Funeral services will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial Mission Chapel 1927 Ocean Street on Thursday, Feb 28, 2013 at 11AM. A reception will follow at Santa Cruz Memorial. Memorial contributions preferred to the Hemophilia Foundation (www.hemophilia.org) or your favorite charity.
