Obituary of Joseph Edward Sutherland

Joseph E Sutherland, 84, passed away on Monday. He was born in Bronxville, New York to Rev. Frank Stuart and Gertrude Esther Sutherland. He retired as a union carpenter after 35 years and later retired from Quail Hollow Elementary School as a custodian. He was an avid bowler and a SF Giants fan, who never missed a game. He also loved the SF 49ers and before he passed, his brother Frank shared with him that this year the "Niners" were going to the Super Bowl !! Joe is survived by his daughter Susan and his three brothers, Spencer (Olga), David (Barbara), and Frank (Vicki). He is also survived by his nine nieces and nephews and their children, his step-son and four step-grandchildren. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, his son and step-son. Private family graveside services are pending. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Joe's memory to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, Ca 95066
