Virginia W Deaver Obituary
Ginger was born in Baltimore, Md. She graduated from Roland Park Country Day School, and she went on to attend Goucher College and Eaton-Burnett Business School. She married Harry in 1941 and moved with him to Minneapolis where they made their home. Ginger had a strong religious upbringing and she was interested in all things religious throughout her life. She was an active member of a small American Baptist Community Church where she served as the Children and Youth Department Head. As the church grew she was instrumental in rewriting the bylaws to accommodate its growth. She was also interested in other religions and her spiritual curiosity led her to metaphysical exploration as well.
Ginger enjoyed swimming, gardening, crossword puzzles, and other word games which kept her mind agile and lucid. She liked many kinds of music including big band, gospel, Hawaiian, and country western. Later in life she discovered a talent for art including painting and ceramics.
First and foremost in Ginger's life was family. While any time spent with any family member was a joy to her, she was at her happiest when the entire family was gathered together under one roof.
After Harry retired, Ginger and Harry moved to Deland, Florida to enjoy year-round golf. From there they moved to Casper, Wyoming; and after Harry died in 2001, she moved first to Sheridan, Wyoming and then to Aptos, California where she most recently lived at Aegis of Aptos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, husband Harry Deaver; and son Bruce Deaver.
Survivors include son Chuck and his wife Jan Deaver of Sheridan, WY; daughter Susie Deaver of Santa Cruz, CA; son Doug and his wife Diane Deaver of Aptos, CA; nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Casper, Wyoming.
