Harriet Elizabeth Peuse was born on November 11, 1923, in Glendive, Montana, the sixth child of William and Harriet McCormies. In 1939 she married Desmond Peuse and together they raised three sons. They moved to Hayward, California, in 1967 where for many years Harriet worked as a buyer for Woolworths. When she retired in 1987 they moved to Scotts Valley to live near family. She died on November 25 at the age of 89.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years. She is survived by sons William and Donna Peuse of Snowflake, Arizona, Mike and Sheila Peuse of Scotts Valley, and David and Linda Peuse of Butte, Montana; grandchildren Grant, Colin, Tara, Ryan, Branden and Desiree, and great-grandchildren Stella, Giuliana, Mason, Haley and Hunter; brothers Duane, Donald, and Robert McCormies, and sister Helen Zimdars. She was a very generous person and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
