Obituary of Marcella Lee Hood

Marcella passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at age 83. Marcella was born in Fair Grove, MO to Maxie and Cleo McGinnis. During high school she met the love of her life and later married, Charles Hood. They were married for 60 years. After they were married they moved to Springfield, Mo. where they made many lifelong friends and lived for 15 years. Marcella and Charles moved to many different states before moving to Mt. View CA. in 1968. They then moved to Aptos to be near their family and only grandchild, where they lived for 25 years. Marcella was a member of Seascape Golf Course and active in the Women's Club there for many years. She loved cooking for family and friends, gardening at her home in Aptos, playing bingo and going to the casinos. While living at Dominican Oaks for the past 4 years she loved to watch the birds and the seasons change from her apartment. Marcella will be remembered for her strong devotion to her family and friends. Her husband, Charles Hood and her brother Maurice McGinnis preceded Marcella in death. Marcella is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doug and Debbie Mayfield of La Selva Beach and her only grandchild, Lauren Mayfield of Newport Beach, CA.
