Obituary of Burton Stanley Fischer

Please share a memory of Burton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bud was born in St. Louis, but his growing up years was in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1951 and then entered the Navy as Electronics Officer aboard the aircraft carrier Badoeing Strait. Following his discharge and liking California winters better than Wisconsin, he settled with his family in Sunnyvale. He was employed by Dalmo Victor, Varian, Lockheed and Collins & Hyde. Fischer Associates was established in 1974 and he retired to Santa Cruz in 1996. He was a member of the Elks for over 50 years. He enjoyed Ham Radio activity (K6OZX), and square-dancing, poker games with his buddies, trips to Reno and Vegas, camping and boating with the Crazy 8's (a group of long time friends). Bud's greatest love was for fishing and with the two Rays, Eddie, Don, Bob and others; their annual trip down the waters off Baja was the high point!! Bud is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne, his four children; Rob, Mike, Leslie (Meyer) and Carrie (Morrison), eight adored grandchildren, and five adored great grandchildren. Bud requested no services to be held. His family will privately scatter his ashes.
