Karen Lee Alvarez passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2018 after a courageous 5 ½ year battle with cancer. She touched many lives with her generous loving spirit and positive outlook on life.
Karen loved life and lived every day to the fullest! She loved spending time with her family and friends, walks on the beach, collecting seashells, reading books, crafting and gardening. Karen always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and infectious laugh, and will be remembered as the fun-loving, kind, open-hearted and radiant spirit that she was.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Joseph Alvarez Jr.; devoted children Ana Alvarez and Leslie Alvarez; stepchildren Stacie Pinkston and Robert Alvarez; grandchildren Tyler, Wesley and Sydney Pinkston, Alyssa Wallace, Lauren Alvarez, Alex and Natalie Felix and Joseph Robert Alvarez-Shryock (Baby Joey); mother Betty Freeman; and sisters Jennifer Post, Cindy Kiernan and Carol Russell.
