I'm just another of the legions of Jim's Porsche friends. I met him in the middle 70s when he was in Piedmont and I in Montclair, Otown. He took me to see the collection near Wards on E-14th several times. I remember him to be quite earnest and serious about the cars but disarmingly funny when the convo drifted to Real life.
RIP Jim. You were a one and only.

Friends and family of Jim-
I was Jim's partner at Arthur Andersen and knew him for years before that. He taught my audit class at UC Berkeley, and I marveled at how cool a dude he was--drove Porsches, 3 piece suit that was perfect, great humor. I then served several large real estate clients with him as a staff, manager and partner over many years. He was one of the best partners to work with, and he was very supportive and helpful to me. He was a rainmaker at AA, and acknowledged as great in the market. I also thought of him as a savvy investor in both real estate and high end cars. Work was only a small part of his rich life.
His passing was way too early and we will miss him tremendously.
I am unable to attend the memorial, but thoughts of him that day will be top of mind.
Here's to Jim's full life and my sincerest condolences to his loved ones.

To Brian and the whole family, I'm very sorry for your loss. I just read of your dad in the Sentinel. If you're the Brian Barrington that was a little kid at Havens School in the 80's, I was Mrs. Rodgers who assisted Mrs. Hopper. Whether or not you're that Brian, I'm saying a prayer for your family today.
Respectfully,
Julie Larson
