Obituary of Rosemary Baker

Please share a memory of Rosemary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With her children at her side, Rosemary Baker went Home to be with her Savior just shy of her 90th birthday. She was interred at Oakwood Memorial Park next to her sweetheart, Harold, on January 2nd. Rosemary was born in 1928 to Ida Barbara and Earl Corey. She met the love of her life, Harold Baker, when she was 18 and they were married just a few months later. They raised 4 children: Sue, Robert (who passed away in 1970), Dan and Debbie. 10 amazing young adults call her "Grandma", and their 22 children call her "Great". Rosemary would tell you that the greatest event of her life was a night in 1958 when both she and Harold put their trust in Christ as their Savior. Their lives and their family were forever changed. The family moved to Santa Cruz in 1970 and promptly became active members of Twin Lakes Church. Rosemary completed the Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene program in 1972 and, after working as a hygienist for less than a year, was asked to join the faculty of the hygiene program. She served as an instructor there for 19 years, during which time she completed both her BA and MA degrees in education at San Jose State. Rosemary had a profound effect on the hygiene program at Cabrillo and was deeply loved and respected by her students and her colleagues. Many of her students are still practicing in our community and have fond memories of their years with Rosemary. Whatever Rosemary did, she did well, whether it was raising children, teaching, babysitting her grands, supporting her kids in their endeavors, packing up for camping trips, or church and community involvements. She was a blessing to us all. We miss her greatly and look forward to a grand reunion "When We All Get to Heaven"! A memorial service for Rosemary will be held at Twin Lakes Church (2701 Cabrillo College Drive, Aptos) on Saturday, January 20th, at 11 AM. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to the Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene Clinic. Checks: Cabrillo College Foundation. Memo: Rosemary Baker, D.H.C. Mail: 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos CA 95003. Donate online - search: "Cabrillo College Donate". In the notes type: Rosemary Baker/Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene.
