Obituary of Roy H. Lyons

Roy Hilliard Lyons, a longtime resident of Santa Cruz passed away April 24 2012. He was 85 Roy was born in St. Louis MO. He graduated from Belleville IL. Junior College and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He also attended Washington University in Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired after 30 plus years as a middle School teacher in San Jose. He lived in Santa Cruz for 35 years. He enjoyed his many years as a docent at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center at Long Marine Lab. Roy is survived by his sister Margaret Blockyou of Bushnell, Florida and a niece and nephews in Florida. At his request, no services are planned for Roy. Following cremation, his ashes will be scattered in the Monterey Bay. Arrangements are entrusted to Santa Cruz Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
