The memory of Jerry's famous 24 egg angel food cake brought back memories of him and his Aunt Mabel who graced me with a gift of that memorable cake on my 40th birthday. I lived across the street from her and always admired Jerry's solicitude for his aunt in her old age. I know Jerry made many more of these cakes and I hope he dropped the loaded cake pan on the floor to "settle" the cake the way Mabel did.
I also remember that he was a terrific Raider fan in the 60's and 70's, driving his RV Raiders' bus to Oakland loaded with Santa Cruz fans. He must have mourned their decision to move to Vegas.
