Obituary of Joseph John Martinez

Joseph J. Martinez, 41, was born in Bakersfield, CA, to parents Erasmo and Rose Martinez. He graduated from Duncan Polytechnical High School in Fresno, He was baptized at 15 yrs old as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. In 1997, Joseph moved to Modesto, Ca and later that year on September 13, 1997, he married Belinda Rodriguez. Five years later, they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Chloe Belle, who Joseph nicknamed "little." Joseph worked for Boise Cascade for 8 years where he was well-respected by his co-workers and clients. After residing in Modesto for many years in 2010, he relocated his family to Aptos, Ca, where they fulfilled their dream of living walking distance to the ocean. Joseph was a congregation elder in the Santa Cruz Harbor Chinese group where he excelled at learning Mandarin and enjoyed helping the Santa Cruz Chinese community learn about Jehovah, the God of the Bible. Joseph loved the outdoors and activities such as stand up paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking, camping, and world travel. He will always be remembered as someone who lived life to the fullest. He was loving, fun and adventurous. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Belinda, daughter, Chloe Belle of Aptos; parents Erasmo and Rose Martinez of Fresno, sister, Juliet and her husband Lawrence Calafiore and their children, Laina, Collin and Kyle from Clovis, and many more relatives and friends from all over the world. Memorial Service will be June 24, 2017, at 2:00 pm, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1188 Branham Ln, San Jose, CA 95118.
