Obituary of Maria Amelia Belo

Services will be held Wednesday, June 7th for Maria A. (Barcelos) Belo, 84, who passed away peacefully on May 31, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Isidro V. Belo. Maria was born in Terceira, Praia da Vitoria, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Machado and Maria Amelia (Azera) Barcelos. Maria was a longtime member of the Amigos Da Terceira, Pawtucket. She leaves four children, Victor Belo, Isidoro Belo, Francisco Belo and Luisa Nunes; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Aurora Santos. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 7th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Santa Cruz Memorial, 1927 Ocean St. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 515 Frederick St., Santa Cruz. Following Mass Maria will be laid to rest next to her husband, Isidro at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 2271 7th Ave., Santa Cruz.
