Shared many hikes with Joan over the last 20 years. Always enjoyed her happy disposition. Happy that Perry and Ann have continued her tradition of hiking and enjoying nature. The best tribute to Joan possible. My thoughts are with your family.

I was very saddened to hear of Joan's passing today. She was a classmate at Menlo-Atherton High School, and I had the pleasure of writing a biographical page about her life for our class newsletter a couple of years ago. That allowed me to get reacquainted with Joan after many years, and I was impressed and inspired by her courage and zest for life. My most sincerely condolences to her family. She will be missed by both you and her classmates.
