In 1963-64, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Prof. Huskey when he would often return, after dinner, for couple of hours, to the computer cenre at IIT Kanpur. He was working on a compiler that had to be self-compiling. As an undergraduate student who spent a lot of time in the computer centre, I had many questions about this I wanted to ask him . At first, I hesitated, but he made me feel comfortable and he always answered my questions and explained things. More than anything else, what I learned from this experience was that a giant in technology can be kind and gentle.
