Mary Thompson posted a condolence

From Mary Thompson:
We honor the soldiers of WW2, and rightfully so.
We refer to them as The Greatest Generation.
We also need to remember the brave women of this generation.
Betty's husband Bob did not know if he would live to see another day at that time,
and Betty did not know if at any moment she would find Naval Officers knocking at her door.
The WW2 women kept the home front together, fed their families with war rations,
and dealt with supply shortages while uplifting the spirits of their loved one.
With her quiet strength and solid character, Betty carried her wonderful family through
many happy and productive years.
Betty loved the beautiful little Maple tree between our homes.
Every time we look out our kitchen window at the little tree we think of dear Betty.
We were blessed to know her.
