Please share a memory of Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanette Angie Camarda, a lifelong resident of Santa Cruz, passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2016 at the age of 91. Jeanette was born in Santa Cruz on April 17, 1925 to John & Josephine Anino. In 1963 she married the love of her life, Louis Camarda, who was one of the former owners of the Senator Club. She was the owner of the old Select Cleaners until 1963 when she sold the business to spend more time with her family. In the mid-70s she went on to work for John Ingles Frozen Foods until she retired in 1982. Sadly, after a short retirement, Louis passed away and to keep herself busy she became a door greeter at K-Mart. Jeanette was also an avid 49ers and Giants fan. Above all, she was a loving mom and grandma. Jeanette is survived by her children: Judy (Mike) Lybrand, Steve Modini Jr., Christy Stow, and Susan (Jeff) Camarda-West; grandchildren, Diane Roff, Gina Garcia, Rick Garcia, Lisa Garcia, Steve John Mondini III, Donny DePedro, Mark DePedro and Jason Muhly-West; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; sisters, Dorothy, Melba and Margie. The family would like to give many thanks to the Hospice of Santa Cruz for their great care and support during their mother's final journey. A memorial service will be held at the Santa Cruz Memorial - Oakwood Chapel located at 3301 Paul Sweet Road on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jeannette's memory to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
