I lost communication with Mary and now, unfortunately, I know why. I met Mary later in our lives through the love of bride and groom wedding cake toppers. I was writing a book about wedding cake toppers and she shared many of her lovely specimens in my book. We got to be friends from there through our love of antiques and while I was living in Georgia she came back for a visit and we had such a good time traveling around Georgia and South Carolina for a week going to so many antique shops. She was such a wonderful friend and companion. Unfortunately, her life was so busy with her store and family affairs we seem to have lost touch. I started trying to look her up and it was harder than I thought to find her so I did what I didn’t want to do and checked the Obituaries in her area and found her name which just broke my heart. I felt I just had to say something about her and our short time together as friends. The first day I met her I felt like I had known her forever. She was a very special person and I do miss her. I’m so sorry for your loss. My name is Penny Henderson. she may have spoken of me when she was sending of photos of her cake top pictures for my book around 2004. My book was published in 2005 and it was called Vintage Wedding Cake toppers and I sent her a copy of it so you probably have a copy of it, Or at least use to. Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. Mary was a good friend of my mother, Zoe when we lived in Boulder Creek when I was a little girl. She was such a kind and giving person. One of my memories was visiting her and her Great Danes that both her and my mom loved. Another fond memory was when I was very little, she took me to a toy store and bought me a huge stuffed animal and I was so excited! I am so sorry for your loss. I met Mary when I was a little girl as my mother Zoe her friend when we we're living in Boulder Creek. If she was always very kind and fun to be around .
