We are very saddened to hear of Stan's passing. We send our love and prayers to Jan and the rest of Stan's family. Stan and Jan have a very special place in our hearts. They agreed to be witnesses at our wedding on Maui in 1998. They barely new us (we met Stan and Bill on our flight to Maui), but when we asked them, they were happy to help out.
Stan made our wedding special with his juggling skills. We will never forget how happy he made us that day :)
We will miss him, his positive personality and his amazing juggling skills :)
With Love,
Brian and Nancy Blasquez

To Jan and family
I don't know if you remember me (us-Brian and Nancy Blasquez), but back 1998, we met Stan and Bill on our flight to Maui. Long story short, we decided to get married on that trip and needed 'witnesses'. Jan, both you and Stan were so kind to be willing to do so, making our wedding very special. I've included a few pictures of that very special moment in our lives. Stan was intent on making our day special with is juggling talents :) It was such a wonderful moment in our lives and we will never forget him.
You and our family are in our thoughts and prayers. We wish you well and we are so so sorry for your loss. Stan will absolutely be missed.
With Love,
Brian and Nancy Blasquez

In 1973, I started working the night shift at Watsonville Community Hospital, Emergency Department. At that time, the Fort Old doctors were moonlighting the night shift. On the day shift I first met Doctors Hajduk and Benedict....they were like "two peas in a pod"... long hair. ponytails, beards and Birkenstocks!!! Just moving from conservative Virginia, I wasn't prepared for my "hippy Drs." but learned very quickly , you can't "judge a book by it"s cover". I learned so much from working with Dr. Hajduk, always on the night shift during my 27 years at WCH-ED....he was very smart , skillful, quirky, really enjoyed entertaining the children with his "balloon animals" and never became flustered.... truly a joy to work with! We the staff in the ED were extremely close... so when I retired in 2000 and moving to Florida.... my family and I had one last dinner at the Crow"s Nest in Santa Cruz. Just as we were leaving, I spotted Dr. Hajduk and family ...we stopped...and I gave him a "gentle" hug goodbye as he was recovering from his by-pass surgery. My heartfelt sympathy to Jan and all the family... he truly was a very special Doctor and friend to me...one I will never forget. Joan Terry

I was 22 years old when I started working in the ER of the old Watsonville Hospital in 1981. Stan Hajduk always impressed me with his calm demeanor, and wry sense of humor. He knew I loved to run, so he talked me into taking his running segment in a triathlon because he wanted to do all three segments by himself. "You've run 6 miles? You can run a half marathon." I was young enough to believe him.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing--it was much too soon. He had such an impact on his community, family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Stan's passing. He was an outsize personality who was a key part of our community. When I was first running for the State Assembly, Stan invited me to the party after the "Doc(k) to Doc(k)" event he organized because he said he wanted me to meet people I didn't already know in the medical community. As he introduced me to physician after physician, he would say "This is my friend John, who's running for the legislature. He supports socialized medicine and he has a lot of friends who are lawyers". Then he'd walk away, laughing. He used to come to events dressed as a clown, and I'd always begin the conversation by saying I served with a lot of clowns. He was a loyal friend, great doctor, had an amazing sense of humor, and really cared about people and about certain issues. I loved him and will miss him. His family is in my thoughts.

My parents worked with Dr. Hajduk at WCH for several years, as a peace officer with the City of Watsonville I encountered him more times in the ER than most. He was always very up-beat, and professional. He treated everyone with courtesy and dignity. I will always remember seeing him juggle for the children who came into the hospital ER for treatment. God bless and my he rest in peace, he will be missed.
