Ted was born May 13, 1932 in Dunsmuir CA, son of Therold "Ted" Parsons, of Watsonville, and Peggy Clarke who passed away when Ted was young. His father remarried Ramona Cline who presented him with a little sister; Diane Parsons (Witmer, also of Aptos). Ted played football for the Champion Wildcats and graduated Watsonville High in 1950. He graduated Santa Clara University in 1954, and served in the US Navy from 1955-1957. In 1958 he met and married Joan Barbara Wilson, a nurse from England, and in 1959 to 1963 they had four boys; Paul Victor, Robert John, Daniel Steven and James Thomas. The family lived on the Santa Cruz mountains summit near Hiway 17, and Ted worked for Lockheed and as a stockbroker for Dempsey Tegeler in Los Gatos. Ted's sons moved to Live Oak in Santa Cruz and graduated Soquel High. He retired to his home on Seascape Golf Course in Aptos in 1996 but then suffered the loss of his third son Daniel. The boys and Dad spent forty years Jeeping, hiking and fishing at Sardine Lakes Resort where the Ted Parsons family are founding members of the Sierra Buttes Land Trust. Ted has three grandchildren; Steven James, Sean Alexander, and Danielle Sarah. Remembrances in his honor can be donated to the Sierra County Land Trust. www.sierracountylandtrust.org/donate.shtml
