Obituary of Virginia L. Smith

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia (Ginny) L. Smith, long-time resident of Montevalle in Scotts Valley, passed away on April 3rd at the age of 82. Ginny was blessed to have been loved by two wonderful men - Tony Smith (deceased) and Wayne Estelle. Ginny enjoyed hiking Henry Cowell Park with Wayne, traveling to over 80 countries with Tony, and eating lunch at the Crow's Nest and looking out at the ocean that she loved so much. Ginny was an avid dancer, starting when she was young with ballet, folk, and tap dancing, transitioning to square dancing and swing dancing. You couldn't keep her off the dance floor if her favorite song, "In the Mood", was playing. Ginny had an adventurous spirit and was always open to new experiences. These included snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, climbing Mayan temples, or zip-lining through a tropical forest in Costa Rica in her 70s. Ginny was known for her upbeat & positive attitude and was quick to laugh. Her friends were many and she so enjoyed spending time with them, sharing laughter and fun times. Ginny especially loved her Montevalle family, whether it be pizza night, block parties, water aerobics or other various activities. She always said that she was so lucky to have lived in Montevalle over the last 26 years. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and was always ready to give a hug. Besides Wayne, she is survived by her son Brian, daughter Annette, son-in-law Michael, sister Irene, and grandchildren Finn, Kyle, Stephanie, Matt, Angela and Mike. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
