Obituary of Mildred Ilene Conner

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The world lost a beautiful soul when Mildred Ilene Hill Conner went to heaven on July 6th, 2015. She was excited to be reunited with loved ones who had passed before, and finally got the opportunity as her children prayed her to heaven, surrounded by family and the love of many friends. She was always a devoted mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. We will miss her warm and friendly smile, charismatic personality, inner glow, yummy enchiladas, peanut butter ball recipe... and so much more. We were selfishly reluctant to let her go, but now she is socializing, gardening, sewing quilts with Grandma, camping and beach combing with Papa, cooking for the angels (if you see a fat angel, you'll see the evidence!), and singing that 'Old Time Religion'. Her days are filled with music, laughter and love, dancing the Charleston, enjoying everything decadent but never gaining an ounce, and, after giving them for 30 years, she is finally getting her much-needed massage! While on the Earth, she easily engaged people with great stories about her interesting life. There were no strangers to her, just friends she hadn't yet met. She was strong, smart, quick to laugh, and opinionated (some would call her stubborn, to which she would quickly reply "I am not, I just have better ideas"). She had a personality that was much bigger than her self-proclaimed five-foot frame (in her dreams!) If possible, she is even more beautiful than she was while earthbound. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Velma Chappell, husband, Billy Joe Conner, and sister, Alma Lawrence. She is survived (and will be greatly missed) by her daughters: Patricia Adams, Brynda Oldemeyer and Sunni Goodreau; her grandchildren: Courtney Taylor, Carly Adams, Joshua Oldemeyer, Stephen Oldemeyer, Robert Adams, and Joseph Adams; her great grandchildren Bentley, Kyla and Bryn; her "adopted children", step children, and many, many, many friends. We invite you to join us for a memorial service to honor her memory and celebrate her life at the Regeneration Church (formerly Scotts Valley Calvary Chapel), 1500 Green Hills Road, Scotts Valley, CA on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make a donation in her honor to the charity of your choice - she would have liked that.
