Obituary of Doris Ann Rodler

Doris Ann Rodler, the beloved wife of Waldo E. (Rod) Rodler, passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 15th. The Rodlers were married for sixty-five years. She is the cherished mother of her daughter, Rebecca Cranert and her son, Micah Rodler and the precious grandmother of Tiffany Slattery, Christian, Jenny and Alex Cranert, Finn and Honor Rodler. Doris was preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie Lynn Rodler and Linda Rodler Slattery. Doris was born and married in Davenport, Iowa. In 1961 the Rodlers moved to San Jose, California, where they lived for many years. For a time the Rodlers lived in Beaufort, South Carolina. For the last several years they have resided in Paradise Park Masonic Club in Santa Cruz, California. Always active within her community, Doris was a long time member of Eastern Star. When her children were young, she served as P.T.A President at their school. She also served as a Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Leader. She was a Deacon at Stone Church of Willow Glen and was a leader of the Junior High Program there. Doris was a talented gardener. While in Beaufort she completed the Master Gardener's Program at Clemson University and subsequently she served on the Clemson Extension Service as a gardening consultant. She was also an active member at The First Presbyterian Church in Beaufort. Visitation will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial Park in Santa Cruz on Friday June 19 from 5 PM to 8 PM. A Graveside funeral will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.
