My deepest condolences to your family. Mrs. La Tendresse was hands down the best teacher my brother and I ever had. I am so sorry for your loss. My father just recently passed away and he was struggling with Dementia for the last 2 years, anyway I don't know why I had the need to look up my 3rd grade teacher tonight but I just did. I was so sad to find her this way. I wish I would of tried to make contact sooner. I have been searching for her for a few years on and off and couldn't to save my life remember how to spell her name and was so off , the search engine didn't even know what I was looking for. I just wanted to thank her for being so instrumental in many ways. And to thank her for being stern, yet humorous and for teaching her students a little about everything, history and government were my absolute favorites with her. Her was bluntly honest, she knew her history, I think we knew more about the civil war, than anyone does today. She thought us everything about Hitler!.. ok maybe her opinion of strong dislike for him she shared with us. She didn't hide any truths from us about anything. I can't imagine she was impressed by "political correctness" today
She shared some of her own speculations at times but never once told us who she was voting for or her own personal likes, period, she taught us,to use our heads . She was adamant about her students forming their own opinions, not to follow everyone else. She loved our Country, was enthusiastic and made learning fun and so memorable I remember more of what I got from her than I remember some of my high school years.Go figure. I can still speak the little French she taught me! Anyway, Thank you Mrs. Latendresse for being a great part of my life. Your still my favorite mentor and God Bless you all . May she rest peacefully. Much love and respect ???

Ms. LaTendresse was my third grade teacher at Natural Bridges Elementary. She was an amazingly wonderful teacher. She challenged us to be our best and then go beyond that. I often think about the Shakespeare plays, the Olympic Games, the Lamp of Learning awards, French lessons/songs, and the art projects she created for us. She went above and beyond for her students. I learned so many things from her, but mostly I learned how to keep trying if I fail at something on the first try. She was a life-changing educator.~ Audrey Larson

Ms. LaTendresse was my 3rd grade teacher many years ago. She was instrumental in fostering my love of history and music. I ran into her about 10 years ago and was able to share with her how much I appreciated her. Sending love & prayers to her family and friends.....Shelley Morris
