Obituary of Susan Renee Gonzales

Susan Renee Gonzales, 61, passed away on March 2, 2015, in the peacefulness of her home in Soquel, CA. She touched so many lives around her and had a laugh that was contagious. Susan was born in San Jose, CA on February 11, 1954 to parents Roy and Ramona Goodwin. She moved to Santa Cruz in 1976. Susan excelled in a career as a banker for over 35 years. Susan loved the outdoors. She loved to garden in her yard, and take walks on the beach with her dogs. She was an avid reader and excellent baker and was famous for her apple pie. She loved dogs and had four of her own. She enjoyed Sunday morning breakfasts at the Cliff Cafe with her beloved husband Ralph, movies and listening to music. She cherished time with her family, especially her five grand-daughters and one grandson. She was so proud of all of them. Susan is survived by her husband of 33 years Ralph Gonzales, her Mother Ramona Goodwin of Folsom, two loving daughters, Lauren Acker and husband Nathan of Fair Oaks and Heather Watson and husband Gordon of Soquel, along with her 6 grandchildren, Hannah, Bella, Shelby, Abby, Emily and Nathan. She is also survived by her brother Jim Goodwin and wife Karen of Orangevale, CA and sister Valerie Knight of Folsom, CA as well as 1 niece and 4 nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving father, Roy James Goodwin (2006). Friends and family are invited to remember Susan and share stories of her life on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Monarch Cove Inn, 620 El Salto Drive, Capitola 95010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to severe on-site parking limitations there will be a complimentary shuttle service available from New Brighton Middle School to The Monarch Cove Inn for guests.
