Obituary of Joyce Jacqueline Lazier

Joyce Jacqueline Ray Lazier passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness of pneumonia, surrounded by her five loving children. She touched many people throughout her life with her positive and loving nature, and had a knack for being quick witted. Joyce was born in Boulder Creek and graduated from Holy Cross High School, before starting work at the phone company. She would then enjoy a 35 year career in electronics, earning the position of Manager, before retiring at 59 to help take care of her Grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Ralph and Kathleen Ray, and her brothers, Ralph, Harold, and Robert (Allen) Ray. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Jarvis of Portola; her five children, Theresa (John) Tolnay of Los Gatos; Joyce (Courtney) Hill of Mosier, Oregon; Donna (Kurt) Fleckner of Livermore; Kenneth (Robin) Lazier of Santa Cruz; and Tina Tarani of Oregon. Joyce is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, one Great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews, whom all loved her very much. She will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her, and to love her. Friends and Family are invited to a Visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 5 to 7 P.M. and a Funeral Service on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road in Santa Cruz. Graveside services to follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.
