Obituary of Molly Frances O'Keefe-Salter

Molly Frances O'Keefe-Salter, 61, passed away on December 21st after a valiant battle with Ovarian Cancer for 11 years. She touched so many lives around her and had a smile that could light up any room. Molly was born in San Francisco, later moving to Santa Cruz, where she graduated from Santa Cruz High School. She then pursued a college degree from the New College School of Law in San Francisco and was an accomplished lawyer. She was an avid caretaker of her mother and her beloved husband Gary, until his passing in 2009. Molly loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She was often found walking along the creek with her grandchildren, making crafts or teaching them about the arts, such as ballet and classical music. She was always up for a road trip and wanted nothing more than to see her grandchildren grow up. She was proud of all of them. Molly is survived by her two loving daughters Bonnie Krietz (Chris) and Elizabeth Salter (Van) of Santa Cruz, along with her 6 grandchildren Aidan, Carson, Kyland, Ruby, Kelly and Pfieffer. She is also survived by her brother Patrick O'Keefe of Santa Cruz and sister Elizabeth Javaheri of Santa Cruz as well as 1 niece, 3 nephews, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 34 years, Gary Salter (2009), son, Donald Salter (2012) and her loving parents Donald and Lorainne O'Keefe. Friends and family are invited to Molly's home on Saturday, January 3rd 2015 from 2pm-6pm to share memories and celebrate her life.
